Leagel makes semi-finished products for artisan gelato at its plant in Chiesanuova, Republic of San Marino. Gelato maker Tonino Leardini founded the company with his wife in 1991, and former gelato maker Giovanni Calabrò joined as partner in 1994. Today the site covers 10,000 m² of production and storage, with in-house research and quality control, and the group includes Leagel America do Sul in Brazil. The range spans bases, flavour pastes, pistachio products, the Loveria line of creams and variegates, the Zhero no-added-sugar line and Fruity and Veggy recipes. Leagel sells on five continents, runs courses and workshops for gelato makers and holds UNI EN ISO 9001:2015 and FSSC 22000 certification.
