Short version: we always set one strictly necessary cookie that keeps you logged in. Google Analytics and Ahrefs Analytics run only if you click Accept on the consent banner; if you reject or ignore it, they never load. There is no advertising or remarketing on this site.

This is what the law calls a strictly necessary cookie. The site cannot offer accounts without it, so it does not require your consent and there is nothing for you to opt into or out of.
We use Google Analytics 4 and Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits and understand which pages are useful. Neither loads until you click Accept on the consent banner. If you reject or ignore the banner, they are never loaded. When they run, both providers receive your IP address and browser details and may process that data outside the EU under their own policies.

Ahrefs states that its Web Analytics does not use cookies. Your choice is stored in your browser's local storage under icp_consent_v1; it is not a cookie and never leaves your device. Withdrawing consent through Cookie settings stops analytics and deletes the Google Analytics cookies.
To be specific rather than vague about it, this site runs none of the following:
When a listing page is viewed we record that a view happened, so the business can see how much interest its profile is getting. Your IP address is passed through a one-way hash before it is stored, we keep no raw IP address for this, and no cookie is involved. Because a simple hash of an IP address could in principle be matched by trying every possible address, we treat these records as personal data rather than anonymous data.
Some listings include a location map or a promotional video. Those are hosted by Google, YouTube and similar providers, and loading them would send your IP address to that provider and let it set its own cookies.
So we do not load them automatically. Maps and videos appear as a placeholder with a button, and nothing is requested from the provider until you press it. If you never press it, the provider never learns you were here.
Once you do load one, that provider's own cookies and privacy terms apply to the embedded frame, not ours. Each map and each video is separate, so loading one does not load the rest.
Everything the public site needs to display, including the icon font and the stylesheet, is served from our own domain. No content delivery network sees your IP address when you browse the public site. The one exception is the owner dashboard: it shows a QR code for your listing that is generated by an external service (api.qrserver.com), which receives your listing's address and your IP address when that page loads.
Business profiles can show a Google map. It is never loaded until you ask for it, because loading it sends your IP address to Google, which may set its own cookies under its own policy. If you choose "Always show maps", we remember that choice in your browser's local storage. It is not a cookie, it never leaves your device, and it only makes maps load automatically on other profiles. You can turn it off with the "Turn off" link under any map, or by clearing this site's data in your browser.
We show a consent banner because Google Analytics needs your permission, and we ask for Ahrefs Analytics too. Rejecting is as easy as accepting, and the site works exactly the same either way. You can change your choice at any time with the Cookie settings link in the footer.
If that ever changes, we will not add it quietly. Any cookie beyond the one listed above would come with a proper consent mechanism, a working refusal option, and an update to this page.
Every browser lets you view, block and delete cookies through its settings. Blocking the session cookie will stop you from logging in and managing a listing, but the public directory will still work perfectly well for browsing.
