Benvenuto is a family-run nut processor in Cortemilia, in the Langhe hills about 30 km from Alba, Piedmont. The Benvenuto family began sourcing hazelnuts across Italy for the Langhe trade in the 1950s and has processed and sold nuts under its own name since 1974. Today the third generation, Lucia Benvenuto, works alongside her parents and aunt. The core product is Nocciola Piemonte PGI hazelnut, together with Tonda Gentile Trilobata, other Italian and imported hazelnuts, almonds, pistachios, walnuts and pine nuts. For more than ten years it has also run its own lines for roasting and for making nut pastes, chopped nuts, flours and creams. The range also includes caramelised nuts and a private label service.
