Euroengel designs and builds Coldtainer refrigerated containers and mobile cold units for temperature-controlled food transport. The company began in July 1993 as a joint venture between Italian partners and Sawafuji Electric of Japan, and started by assembling Engel portable fridges in Europe. It designs every component of its insulated containers and produces the bodies by rotational moulding. Production is in San Zeno Naviglio, near Brescia. Gelato makers and caterers use the containers to move and hold product at controlled temperatures, and most output is exported to more than 30 countries.
